I went back to Lyall bay over the weekend to try and capture a few more shots in my Light Streaks series. I used my ND filter which pushed out the exposure time to 20 and 30 seconds. However it proved quiet difficult setting up the shots in the dark. The good thing about using the filter is that I can get a much more “painterly” feel from the movement of the water. Because of the reduction of light caused by my filter (its a 5 stop!) the light from the incoming plane lights up the water surface and at the correct exposure, this is the only part rendered… I like to call it painting with light.
